Stratigraphy & History
The field produced significant alluvial gold in the 1860s-70s. The area's gentle terrain allowed extensive sluicing operations. Today, the campsite incorporates historic artefacts and interpretive panels explaining the mining history.
Geological Context
Fine alluvial gold in the creek gravels, with concentrations on bedrock bars and in root systems along the banks. Pan the moss and debris off rocks on the creek edge — gold accumulates in organic matter.
Field Note
CONFIDENTIAL PRO-INTEL
Verified Sector Secret
"Tunnel Terrace. The floor of the old tunnel entrances (only safe, open ones) holds fine gold dust that sifted down through the ceiling."
Economic Potential
Historical yield data suggests unrecovered fines at depth. Optimal for small-scale suction or high-banking if permitted.
Trade Gold
Leverage spot price movements globally while you're in the field.
